September 17th — Dr. Lal and the C-MASC team went to the annual Farm Science Review at the Gwynne Conservation Area in London, Ohio. There they were treated to demonstrations of the latest farming techniques and technology, such as avoiding toxicity in warm-season forages and specially-designed erosion control mats. Attendees saw farm equipment of impressive size and attended talks ranging from tax strategies and government policy for farmers to CRISPR gene editing in livestock. Dr. Lal and his students had a wonderful time mingling with great company and taking in all the latest in agriculture. Dr. Lal met with colleagues in farming, from CFAES Dean Cathann Kress to Central State University Dean of CESTA Alton B. Johnson to Ohio Governor Mike DeWine.
